About This Workshop

Create a ring, earrings, or pendant using 1–6g of pure silver. Guided by skilled artisans, this workshop is perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics of silversmithing.

The Single Silver Class is the easiest way to try silversmithing in Ubud. You make one piece from 1–6 grams of pure silver: a ring, a pendant or a pair of earrings. No experience is needed. An instructor works next to you from the first sketch to the final polish, and you take your piece home the same day.

The class takes about 1 to 2 hours and you can start any time between 9 AM and 5 PM, so it fits around a morning at the rice terraces or an afternoon in Ubud town. Our workshop is in Batuan, Sukawati, just south of Ubud.

What's Included

How the Class Works

1. 1Choose your piece: a ring, a pendant or earrings. You are welcome to bring your own design, as long as it can be made by hand.
2. 2Cut and shape the silver with a jeweler’s saw, files and pliers.
3. 3Join the parts with a small soldering torch, with your instructor beside you.
4. 4Add texture with hammers and stamps, then polish your piece until it shines.
5. 5Take your finished piece home the same day.
